How We Classify Products

CeliacSnacks is a transparency directory. For every product we show you the gluten-free status that the manufacturer or seller represents — in their own words — and we label how strong that representation is. We are not a lab, a certifier, or the seller.

What we do — and don't — do

  • We report what each company says about a product's gluten-free status, and we attribute it to that company.
  • We do not independently test products, audit facilities, or issue our own certification.
  • We never state that a product is "safe" or "guaranteed" for anyone. That is a medical judgment, not ours to make.

Always confirm the gluten-free status, certification, and ingredients on the manufacturer's current packaging before you buy or eat anything. Formulations, suppliers, and certifications change.

The four assurance levels

Each listing carries one badge so you can see, at a glance, what kind of claim stands behind it:

  • Independently certified — carries a recognized third-party gluten-free certification (e.g., GFCO, GIG, GFCP, NCA, CSA). We link to the certifier where we can so you can verify it yourself.
  • Brand-certified gluten-free — the maker says it certifies or tests its own products to a gluten-free standard (for example, to a stated parts-per-million threshold), through its own program rather than an independent body.
  • Dedicated gluten-free facility — the maker says the product is produced in a dedicated or segregated gluten-free facility.
  • Labeled gluten-free — the product or brand holds itself out as gluten-free, without a stated certification or dedicated-facility claim.

Stronger isn't a promise and weaker isn't a warning — they describe who is vouching and how. An independent certifier is a different kind of assurance than a brand's own word, and we think you deserve to see which is which.

In the company's own words

Where a company makes a specific gluten-free statement, we show it verbatim, in quotation marks, attributed to the source, with a link to where it appears. We don't paraphrase it into a stronger claim than the company actually made.

What we don't list

If a product makes no gluten-free representation at all, we don't list it.

Report a problem

If a listing is inaccurate, or a company's claim or certification has changed, contact us and we'll review and update or remove it.
